For Your Information

What's Going On With Our Pastoral Search Process?

This is a question that is asked frequently as Covenant Presbyterian Church seeks to fill the position of Senior Pastor.  The congregation has elected a PNC (Pastoral Nominating Committee) which is working diligently with the representatives from the Peace River Presbytery and its Committee on Ministry to prepare the church for the new pastor.  You have provided your input through the "Holy Cow" survey process, and this has been provided to the nominating committee.  This representative group meets regularly and is working, using all the input provided - including yours - to complete the process set out in the PC(USA) Book of Order.  The end result will be that qualified candidates who meet our criteria will be identified from national and regional sources, and your PNC will have a slection of the best possible candidates from which it can choose.  At the end of the process, the congregation will make the final decision on who will fill the pulpit at Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Beverly Grady is chairing our PNC, with members Ed Christenbury, Kate Negip, Sue Robinson, Brad Rothenberg, Peggy Salvesen, and Gardner "Doc" White.  Serving as resources are The Rev. Taylor Hill, Rev. Graham Hart of Presbytery and Lil Rea and Max Furbringer of its Committee on Ministry.

Help us save MONEY!

Members, please help us save on postage!  Please fill in your email address, if available, in the form in the pew pads.  This will allow us to save a considerable amount on postage throughout the year and reduce the amount of mailings in your mailbox each month.

In the hospital?

Please let the church staff know if members are in the hospital.  Changes in state law went into effect April 14, 2003, informing hospitals that they will no longer be able to give out the names of patients to their respective pastors or denominations.  Thanks for your help.
